Its use allows to stimulate the oxygenation of the dermis and the hypoderm of the whole body. It is also used with benefit in rejuvenating external genitalia.
The principle of operation is very simple and it starts from the assumption that carbon dioxide (CO2) is for our body a waste to be eliminated.
As a waste product of the cellular metabolism, carbon dioxide is exchanged with oxygen and transported by red blood cells to the lungs to be expelled with breathing. When a red blood cell encounters carbon dioxide, it releases the oxygen molecules it carries to load the latter, with which it has much more affinity.
Carboxytherapy determines a local CO2 accumulation that results in reactive hyperoxygenation (for red blood cell oxygen release, which must transport it to the lungs). This hyperoxygenation improves the vitality of the treated tissues, session after session.
It therefore improves skin firmness, reducing the causal factors of cellulitis, resulting in a beneficial effect on cellulitis and localized fat.
