What is it for
Through the rejuvenating effect and improvement of skin texture—processes activated by microneedling through the stimulation of collagen production—it is possible to effectively treat fine lines, expression wrinkles, stretch marks, and scars, both post-traumatic and post-acne.
The versatility of this technology allows application even in sensitive or hard-to-reach areas. Although it uses micro-needles, the procedure is almost imperceptible and is fully customizable in depth and intensity, allowing for targeted and excellent results. In this way, the body’s natural self-regeneration abilities are harnessed, resulting in smoother, brighter, and firmer skin.
The ideal areas are the face, neck, and décolleté, but excellent results can also be obtained on the chest, abdomen, and hips. It is also a less invasive alternative to certain laser techniques. To enhance the effects of the treatment, pro-regenerating actives such as vitamins, polynucleotides (PDRN), exosomes, and hyaluronic acid are used, along with complementary treatments such as peeling when indicated.
How it works
The principle of microneedling is based on a simple yet highly effective mechanism: controlled micro-perforations stimulate the skin to activate its natural repair processes. In the days following the session, mechanisms are triggered that increase the production of collagen and elastin—the key proteins for tone and elasticity, which naturally decrease over time.
For this reason, at Samsara Medical Center we use SkinPen®, the best microneedling device on the market and the only one with FDA certification. This approval, granted by the U.S. regulatory authority for drugs and medical devices, ensures high standards of safety and clinically proven effectiveness.
The result is a progressive improvement in skin quality: refined texture, even tone, reduced imperfections, and visible natural rejuvenation. Periodic repetition of sessions helps keep collagen production active, contributing to slowing down the signs of aging.
Frequently Asked Questions
It obviously depends on the case and the goals. Ideally, at least 4 sessions (1 every three weeks) are recommended. At the end of the first cycle, 1 treatment per month is recommended until the final goals are achieved.
Yes, the treatment is contraindicated in the case of bacterial infections on the area to be treated, such as herpes or other infections, which must be properly treated before the treatment can proceed. It is also contraindicated in the presence of particular skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, autoimmune diseases or in the presence of active or infected wounds.
Slight skin irritation immediately after the procedure, which resolves on average within 24-48 hours.
Although micro-needles are actually mechanically stimulating cell proliferation, even in the most sensitive areas, this mechanical process does not induce pain and is commonly very well tolerated.
Simply avoid exposure to the sun for at least four weeks.
Professional Microneedling has been shown to allow a clinical improvement of 50 to 70% with a series of 5 to 7 treatments if carried out at regular intervals. It has also been shown to be effective in cases of atrophic scars and scar retractions, among the most difficult to treat, with clear and visible signs of improvement.
Depending on the size of the treated area, the duration can vary from 30 to 60 minutes.
